Mithai Pehchano: Blindfold Sweet Tasting Kitty Party Game
Mithai Pehchano is a blindfold tasting game where each lady tastes one small piece of Indian mithai and has 10 seconds to name it. Every correct name scores a point, and the lady with the most points at the end wins. The twist: anyone who guesses wrong has to bring that exact mithai to the next kitty. It is perfect for Diwali week, needs only leftover sweets, a dupatta and toothpicks, and takes about 15 minutes.

What do you need to play Mithai Pehchano?
- 5 to 6 kinds of mithai (kaju katli, laddoo, barfi, peda, soan papdi), cut into one-bite pieces
- A dupatta or scarf as a blindfold
- Toothpicks, a fresh one for each lady
- A phone timer
- Paper and pen to keep score
How to play Mithai Pehchano, step by step
- Cut 5 to 6 kinds of mithai into small one-bite pieces and keep them on a plate, out of sight of the players.
- Blindfold one lady with a dupatta. Everyone else stays quiet and gives no hints.
- The host picks a piece with a fresh toothpick and feeds it to the blindfolded lady.
- Start a 10 second timer. If she names the mithai correctly, she gets 1 point.
- If she names it wrong, she must bring that exact mithai to the next kitty. Repeat for every lady, 2 or 3 rounds each.
Rules: how do you win?
- Peeking from under the blindfold cancels the point.
- An answer after 10 seconds does not count.
- Anyone who gives a hint loses one of her own points.
- The lady with the most correct answers is the Mithai Queen.
Fun twists to make it crazier
- Feed two pieces at once and ask for both names.
- Ask for the city as well, like Agra ka petha or Mathura ka peda.
- Give only 5 seconds in the final round.
Tips for the host
- Ask about nut allergies, diabetes or fasting before you start, and keep a sugar free option ready.
- Use a fresh toothpick for every lady.
- Cut pieces really small so nothing is wasted; leftovers go back in the box for tea time.
- Keep one tricky pair, like barfi and milk cake, to make it harder.

Which sweets are best for a mithai tasting game?
Mix easy and tricky ones: kaju katli, motichoor laddoo, peda, soan papdi, plain barfi, milk cake or coconut barfi. Similar looking sweets make it harder.
What if someone has diabetes or a nut allergy?
Ask before the game. Keep sugar free sweets or nut free options for her, or let her play as the host who feeds and times the others.
